How to clean your resin dental prosthesis?

To clean a dental prosthesis, you don't need much and above all follow the following advice:
- Brush your denture with a soft toothbrush.
- Do not ADD toothpaste.
- Do not boil your braces.
- Do not put it in the dishwasher.
- Never use bleach.
- Do not microwave it.
A resin dental prosthesis is mainly made with special resin and a suitable monomer liquid.
- Then it is cooked in a pressure device (polymerizer).
- Once cooked, it is worked by a dental technician for a perfect fit to your mouth.
- The finish is a manual polishing with pumice stone to remove all traces of manufacturing and to make it smooth and shiny.
Why should you not use toothpaste to clean resin dentures?
- Your pink resin denture is a mobile device, it has been carefully polished to obtain a perfectly smooth surface.
- If you use toothpaste to clean your dentures, you will scratch the surface and remove the protective layer from polishing.
- When the scratches are created, this will provide free access to bacteria which will penetrate inside the material.
- These bacteria will make the resin less hard and above all will bring an extremely unpleasant odor to the prosthesis.
- The tartar will cling and quickly proliferate all around the prosthesis.
- The color of the prosthesis will change to end up with an "old prosthesis" and off-putting appearance.
No need to spend money on cleaning your denture.
